REWARDING ARCHERS WITH MERIT PINS

Recognizing Archer Accomplishments

OAS-Icon.png

The I AM an Archer recognition program is designed to recognize accomplishments and to reward positive traits in youth. It begins with the opportunity of rewarding archers with a merit pin. Below are a few nominations we would like to put a spotlight on!

Would you like to nominate an OAS archer?

I AM Honorable – I AM Competent – I AM a Leader

“Connect with others, from parents to archers and coaches, who are passionate about making this opportunity available for the community. These team members will be crucial in providing the key skills and strengths needed to create a sustainable program. Also talk with us at OAS!  We love talking with people who share our dream of making a difference in our youth and our sport.”

Jean Betances (Corner Lake Middle School)

OAS-Honor-125x137.png

I AM Honorable

“During our scrimmage on Saturday, January 27, we experienced high wind gusts throughout the day. My team’s tents were taking a beating and, at one point, blew over and took out several of our bows and a bow rack. Without hesitation, Jean came rushing to our aid. He was helping put the tent right, grab equipment and personal items from our team that were blowing away, and checking to make sure we and our equipment were alright; even though we were on opposing teams. He was not directed by his coach or anyone else, he acted on his own accord. Jean embodies the ideals of sportsmanship and honor, and I believe is the exact representation of the I Am An Archer Program.”
